Stop Press
- 1 Mar The supplementary theory exam has been postponed until Wednesday 07/03 (probably Piano Lab from 10-13:00, but TBC). This will mean that if you need to change your enrolment next week, you will not be able to do so using my.unsw, and instead will have to contact the CSE Student Office.
- 29 Feb The supplementary exam will be held this Friday 02/03 in Piano Lab from 10-13:00. By now everyone who sat the final exam should have received an email saying whether they passed the course or whether they should take the supplementary exam. If you have not received an email, please contact Rupert: ruperts@cse.unsw.edu.au.
- 29 Feb We are planning for a supplementary theory exam on Friday morning (2nd March), location TBA. Please email Rupert if you would like to take this exam (ruperts@cse.unsw.edu.au) or if you have any questions about it. Anyone who takes the supplementary exam will be capped to an exam result of 50%, but their final course result may be higher (depending on their denouement).
- 29 Feb Rupert says: the CSE Student Office has emailed anyone with a low exam mark to advise that they may not be able to pass the course and should consider re-enrolling in COMP1927. If you did not receive an email from the CSE Student Office then you should assume that you have definitely passed the course
- 22 Feb Richard (me) has been unwell and the school has arranged for Rupert to mark the exams. Anyone who passed the exam will pass the course - tho if they have a poor denouement they may get a PC or 50P. I will be away convalescing for a week from Thursday, the final mark release and details of the sup exam will likely happen a few days after I get back. All going well except for tricky cases you are likely to discover if you have passed or not before then. Best regards to you all and thank you for your patience and support thoughout this time.
- 17 Feb Behold the COMP1927 Post Mortem. Please add your feedback to help make the course and openlearning better for future students!
- 8 Feb In wonderful news today it looks like EVERYONE who sat the prac exam yesterday passed. Well done everyone! The list of those who have passed the prac exam hurdle has now been updated with the results of this latest exam - see here
- 6 Feb All the best in the exam tomorrow guys. It has been a pleasure getting to know you these past weeks (while everyone else has been off bumming around and we have been working hard!)
My exam tip is to take it slowly read the questions carefully and make sure you answer what was asked not what your first thought about the question was. The best answers are short and well thought out, rather than long and scattergun. I'll publish some of the questions and submitted answers (anonymized) after the exam so you can see what i mean as that might convince you for future exams if not for this one.
I'm not going to be there tomorrow or indeed back at uni for some weeks now i think - i'll be availabe electronically on and off over that time and certainly for the next few days but forgive me if i'm slower than usual (is that even possible?)
warm regards,
richard.
- 6 Feb Skeleton of the final exam, containing the rules, approximate layout and approximate marks, but not the real questions, is here.
