About Me

Hello all. I'm Eric Alan Weinstein.  I am co-chair of the Unbinding Prometheus  project and Chief Course Facilitator for the Percy Shelley: Unbinding Prometheus  MOOC. As part of this project, I host the ongoing Penn Shelley Seminar Series.  I also co-direct a new digital humanities portal for Shelley studies called The Prometheus Collaborative Digital Initiative. Our project co-ordinator at Penn's Scholarly Commons is Sarah Wipperman, who is part of our U.P. MOOC team. Our team will also co-host Penn's upcoming  Unbinding Prometheus  conference in late Summer 2015.

My colleagues in Unbinding Prometheus, Marcia Hepps, Peter Schwatz and Jim Schlatter,  worked with Kelly Writers House at UPenn to oversee the creation of  a live concert performance of Shelley's lyrical drama. This event occured on  September 18th 2014. It was recorded, and will be permanently archived at UPenn, and freely disseminated at PennSound for both scholarly and general use---including use by our MOOC. We are also recording a full-cast, unabridged audio version, directed by U.P. MOOC team member Kelly Lincoln. This complete version will become available during our MOOC for your listening pleasure.

Other key members of our team include our administrative coordinator Leigh Hershkovich, and our project researcher Merissa Herbert. Our Video Content Creation team is  Tim Cartlidge, Kate Slovitch and Sharon Sullivan. Over 30 scholars, critics and poets will also be  participating in our MOOC.  You will also get to know many of the 20 participant members of our Shelley Seminar Group, as they appear in our many close reading videos.

From all of us to all of you--welcome to Percy Shelley: Unbinding Prometheus!
